DEEP RIVER
FLOW THROUGH  TURBINE

Basic  Concept

The "Deep River Turbine" is a ‘plug and go’ system consisting of a turbine and a complete regulatory system. Each of these will be contained in separate container solutions.

One regulatory system may support several turbines. Combined the turbine and regulatory system will be a complete system which will fully be able to work as a stand-alone system or be grid-connected. The technology is simple, flexible and robust.

The  Turbine

The Deep River turbine is a cross flow turbine that is well suited for locations with a low head but high flow. The water runs through the turbine transversely and passes the turbine blades twice which provides additional efficiency. When the water leaves the runner, it also helps clean the runner of small debris and pollution. The turbine's relatively simple construction ensures low operating costs.

Transport  and  assembly

Standard container solutions provide major advantages for transport, installation and service. The construction materials have been carefully selected from the ship and offshore industry, where reliability and longevity have been the main criteria. Service and maintenance are important factors for any energy project. The Deep River AS have developed several solutions that will secure easy monitoring by sensors, check-up by submerged camera, and another concept that will prevent fouling. Our buoyancy platoons will simplify installation and maintenance as well as provide stabilization in the water.
The Deep River technology has been designed for standard transportation options by;
  • Truck
  • Boat
  • Helicopter.
Deep River will before each installation gather site dependent information such as river depth, flow and river bottom conditions. Anchoring will be site dependent, and our engineers will in each case find the best solution.Klikk her for å redigere.

Scale

The power plant is fully scalable, both in amount of turbines and in size. Increasing the number of turbines will for most sites be an easy and economically effective way of increasing the power output.
